One of the programmes Killinarden Community School offers its students is the Leaving Cert Applied (LCA). It is a two year course open to 5th and 6th year students.
As part of this course students have to participate in work experience. This work experience consists of one day a week (Tuesdays -5th years; Fridays – 6th years).
The idea of the programme is that students gain valuable skills and experience work-life, learning how to work with others, be punctual, respectful and hard working.
This successful programme in KCS is mainly due to the local businesses that offer our students work experience placements. We, here in KCS would like to extend a warm thank you to those businesses that are part of our programme and we hope you will continue in assisting our young people in the world of work.
We would also like to take this opportunity to ask any other business in the locality to consider taking on one of our students on work experience. Students are also covered by the school’s own insurance policy.
Should you wish to offer your skills, experience or participate in our work experience programme please contact us here in KCS.
