KCS has five fully-equipped science laboratories in which all students study Science at Junior Certificate level. We are very proud of our students with many of our past-pupils going on to third level and studying science. Some of our past-pupils have returned to KCS for their work experience as laboratory technicians. KCS has been represented at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition in the RDS six times since 2001 and regularly is involved in projects like Sci-Fest and Science Week activities.
Science: The Junior Cert.
Science course is based on practical experiential learning and involves numerous experiments and projects work. Students learn about Biology, Physics and Chemistry in one of our 5 fully-equipped laboratories.
Physics: Leaving Cert.
Physics is studied over two years and involves 5 class periods a week. It provides a great foundation for engineering, electrical, technology, mechanical and science careers.
Biology: Leaving Cert.
Biology is studies over two years and involves 5 class periods a week. It provides a great foundation for nursing and medicine, sports science, laboratory technicians, forensics and health & beauty.
