It’s been a busy first month for the TY students with a mix of trips, guest speakers and classes. All 24 students have now started their weekly volunteering in the community and their Sports Leadership Course. We are planning various activities for the rest of the school year but here’s a taste of what has been happening so far ….
- Visit to the TY Expo in Punchestown
- Guest speaker John O Shea on Social Entrepreneurship
- Bowling in Tallaght
- Selling Butlers Chocolate bars for the Hope Foundation who work in India
- Running the KCS Tuck Shop
- Celebrating Maths Week by learning the maths behind juggling in IT Tallaght
- Listening to an informative talk by the Samaritans on mental health and wellbeing
- Learning about Breast Cancer research and awareness
- Running a 1-2-1 Digital course for parents who want to improve their IT skills
- Visit to Zeminar in the RDS to promote positive mental health and development. This included meeting the Strypes!
- Drumming session with African drums and percussion with Drum Nature
