This year’s West Leinster Athletics meet was held on a typical Irish summers day. It rained, it was cloudy, it was cold, it was warm and it was sunny. As always there was a number of first timers in the KCS group, Aaron Holt was in the shot put, Robyn Fenlon was in the 100m, the O’Brien twins in the long distance events, Tyler Meade in the 800m, Amy Kelly in the 200m and Lee Fulham in the 1500m. Jamie Yeates in fifth year was also a surprising first timer. Amy O Neill and Tori Fitzgerald were back again after strong performances last year. The stand out performances on the day were Lee Fulham who came second in the first year boys 1500m in a very exciting finish. The O’Brien twins were also very unlucky to just finish outside the medals in the 800m and 1500m respectively. Special note must go to Ryan Dunne in fifth year who represented the school very well on the day and was mad to do very event possible.
