Global Green Week

Events, News March 31, 2017

Transition Year students held Global Green Week on the week beginning 20th of March. Mr Green made an appearance, he was spotted doing some clear ups in the concourse and on Tuesday he had a prize for all the students who were willing to get involved! He wants all of us to COME OVER TO THE GREEN SIDE! We wanted students to think about where their waste goes after it leaves KCS and also to use the recycling bins in the school so we organised a presentation to CSPE classes that encouraged all to think about ways that they can reduce their waste in their own lives. The TY class organised a massive clean up and over five large recycling bins were filled with recyclable rubbish that has been sitting around the school for a long time. Teachers even got involved, lots of classrooms had a spring clean. Ms Maj. Murphy, Ms Doyle and Ms Shanley won prizes for their recycling efforts. Over 150 students entered the Global Green Week competition and the winners were Grace Angel 2P and Erin Maher in 2T. Well Done to everybody who entered!

So we want to say a huge “Thank You” to all the students and teachers for their help and especially Stephen and Jason who helped with all the recycling. Welcome KCS over to the GREEN SIDE!
